- Telangana’s state Congress chief Revanth Reddy is all set to become the second chief minister of the state.
- The chief of Zoram People’s Movement, Lalduhoma will be the new Chief Minister of Mizoram. His party, Zoram Peoples Movement will enjoy the ruling dispensation for the first time in the state since its formation.
- Captain Geetika Koul becomes the first Indian woman medical officer of the Indian Army to be deployed at the highest battlefield of the world, Siachen glacier.

- Asian Awards, 2023: India’s Paralympic archer Seethal Devi has been awarded the Best Young Athlete in the Asian Awards in Riyadh. This award ceremony is hosted every two years to felicitate the exemplary para-athletes who aced the Para athletics. Seethal Devi won two gold medals and one silver medal in the Hangzhou Asian para games 2022 .
- Olympian M. Sreeshankar has been awarded the Jimmy George Foundation Award, the best sports person’s award in Kerala. Sreeshankar is a long jumper who also won Silver Medal in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Britain.
- Mushfiqur Rahim becomes the first Bangladeshi Batsmen to be given out obstructing the field in Test Cricket during the on-going series against New Zealand.
- Nandan Nilekani (the co-founder and chairman of Infosys), KP Singh (Chaiman of DLF) and Nikhil Kamath (Co-founder of Zerodha) has been named in the Prestigious ‘Forbes Asia Heroes of Philantrophy List’.
- UAE’s President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nayhan has announced a $300 billion fund named ‘ALTERRA’ in the CoP28 summit, Dubai, proposing to prepare strategies regarding climate change and funding the investment in the Global South.
- President of Kenya, William Samoei Ruto is on a three day state visit to India on the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations of the two countries.
- Jithesh John has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). IBBI is a statutory body aimed to improve the credit culture in India.
- Rajiv Anand has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Max Life Insurance.
- Shaun Davis, the former Mr. Universe bodybuilder has recently passed away at the age of 57.
- INS Sandhayak, the first of the four proposed Survey Vehicle (Large) of the Indian Navy was delivered by the Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE),Kolkata. It is the largest Survey Vehicle ever made in India with a displacement capacity of 3400 tonnes and speed of 18 knots that can carry a helicopter, participate in low intensity combats and can function as a hospital in the sea.
- INS Sumedha is commissioned on a mission at Antsirnana of Madagascar to enhance maritime security in the area and to bolster friendly relations with Madagascar. INS Sumedha is one of the three indigenously developed Naval Offshore Patrol Vehicle (NOPV) of the Indian Navy.
- The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami recently launched a book “ RESILIENT INDIA: How Modi Transformed India’s Disaster Management Paradigm’.
- Meghalaya’s Lakadong Turmeric – considered to be one of the best varities of turmeric – gets Geographical Indication (GI) tag. It is found only in the Lakadong area of the Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya.
- According to the Forbes’ ‘Top 10 largest Economies of the World’ list, US is the topper with GDP of $26,954 Billion followed by China, Germany, Japan and India ($3,730 Billion) respectively.
- In order to empower the Gram Panchayats and improve grass-root level spatial planning, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has launched the ‘Gram Manchitra’ app and a mobile solution ‘mActionSoft’. The ‘Gram Manchitra’ app is a GIS based app which supports the GPs to enable planning with Geo-spatial technology. The ‘mActionSoft’ solution aims to monitor the progress of the asset based works of the GPs capturing photos with Geo-Tags.
- The India Internet Governance Forum 2023 is being hosted at New Delhi. It’s theme of this year is – ‘Moving Forward Calibrating Bharat’s Digital Agenda’.
- The Indian Army have deployed the two humped camels, — indigenous species of the area and capable of carrying 170 kg of load at an altitude of 17000 ft, — in Eastern Ladakh for the logistical support to the troops.
- National Crime Records Bureau Report 2023:
- Delhi lodged the highest number of FIRs linked to crime against women. Mumbai and Bengaluru are second and third in this metric.
- Regarding Criminal cases UP is the first in the country followed by Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
- Top crime recoding cities: – 1st – Delhi, 2nd – Mumbai, 3rd – Bengaluru.
- Highest number of murder cases: 1st– UP (3491), 2nd – Bihar (2930), 3rd –Maharashtra (2295).
- Kolkata emerged as the safest city for the third consecutive year in the NCRB Data.
- Maximum cases registered under POSCO Act: 1st – Maharashtra, 2nd – Madhya Pradesh, 3rd – Uttar Pradesh.
- Cases related to financial fraud has increased by 11.1% and Cybercrime has increased by 24.4 %.
- NCRB data is annually published by the National Crime Records Bureau, established under the recommendation of Tandon Committee, the National Police Commission (1977-81) and the Task Force of the Home Ministry.
- The first Asian Ranger Forum has begun in Gwahati, Assam to consolidate the rangers of the Asian region and address various issues affecting the global rangers community and provide solutions. The theme of the forum is “Asia’s Biodiversity Guardians for 30×30”.
