I have utmost respect for Kangana Ranaut, the actress and nil for Kangana Ranaut, the individual. At times she appears to me synonymous with the party in the power- there is no middle path, only bullying, lofty claims, hefty allegations and at the end of the day a propaganda specialist laden with personal vendetta and agenda-based politics. In her pursuits of fame, name, power and money, she is accompanied by her sister, a victim of acid attack and an army of misguided youth who have very little other things to do.

Let’s have a deeper look at her career. All her initial hits were because of some other reasons. Gangster was hit because of its soulful music and inspiring performances from the male counterparts and Kangana had very little things to do apart from boozing and putting dark eyeliners and glycerin on her face. Her other notable hit during that early phase was Life In A metro where her own contribution was equivalent to Sachin Tnedulkar’s contribution in 1983 World Cup Victory. By the way , Sachin was then a nine year old boy watching the telecast on the television. In the years to come, she acted in a good number of flops including Dhaam Dhoom (Have you heard its name?), Tez, Shakalaka Boom Boom, Raaz the Mystery Continues, Vaada Raha, Ek Niranjan, No Problem, Kites, Knock Out , Game- the list goes on. Have you found anything inspiring. And do not forget, most of these works were from the big production houses, which as per her own claim always reject the youngsters.  It was only after Tanu Weds Manu, we had some slight ideas that this girl could act other than boozing onscreen. It was however followed by some inconsistent performances like Miley Na Miley Hum, Tezz, Rascals, Ready before delivering another smash hit Queen which as a movie I found very much mediocre. It was from Krrish 3 in 2016 that she found a new means of sustenance, stalking others to get the limelight to rescue the sinking ship of her career. As she herself was not capable of gaining any public attention, she linked herself with the stardom of Hrithik and boy, that was a clever move from the witch. Her penchant for signing horrible movies did not lessen though and she went on acting in trashes like Revolver Rani, Rajjo, Ungli, Katti Batti , I love NY- the list will not end. Only saving grace in her career at that time was Tanu and Manu Returns which I think was mediocre in comparison to its illustrious prequel. By this time, by dint of her shrewd marketing skills by using media in her favor, spreading hatred, bullying her co-stars, creating public stunts, becoming a hardcore Bhakt, she had successfully become producer and created a child’s play like Manikarnika which had high octane value and less production value. Even though public rejected her films, she did not stop for a single day to call all of her works super hits!!! Much like our very own economy, eh?

In Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Kangana got a new lifeboat as if gimmicks like spinning a charkha was not enough. She used it so cleverly that even her enemies were befooled at times. Deep inside, she was always of one agenda- ‘Look at me- I am Kangana Ranawat and I am so pure and everyone else is a criminal’. In her quest to chastity and larger than life image, she got the support of the ruling party which too was instrumental in using Sushant’s death for its own political gains in Bihar and Maharashtra politics. Their collaboration was facilitated aptly by the likes of Arnabs, Sudhirs, Rajats who literally worked for months on one single agenda- Sushant’s death. So many innocents were victimized. Many lost their jobs because people were razing with the boycott mood. Have you ever thought- in boycotting a movie, you actually make hundreds of people associated with it jobless? Did Kangana ever think of the hundreds of thousands of jobs she ate up or millions of costly hours of the youths she wasted in self-promotion? If she is such a saviour of the newcomers, why did not she offer Sushant or any newcomer a role in the works she produced? Does not she have a role in Sushant’s death herself? If the boycotts she has so willfully planned for her personal gains result in any suicides, will she be able to avert her own responsibility there?

You will continue seeing her face everyday as long as you are in the social media hemisphere or you are a watcher of our national media. They don’t have any other issues. Our ailing economy does not concern them. Unemployment is not their cup of tea. Farmers’ suicide is a conspiracy of the oppositions. They just believe in one job- boot-licking. And in Kangana, they have got a new messiah, a savior, a queen. Her next venture Dhakkad is already a mega hit months before its release. Do not be surprised if she runs for elections soon.
